PART 6: Modem Information
|

- Set the Modem Type to your modem model. If your modem is not listed select Hayes Compatible
- Set the COM port for the COM port for which your modem is configured.
- Set the Speed to the appropriate port speed for your modem. For 14.4 modems use 19200, for 28.8 modems use 38400 and for 56k use 57600.
Note: Do not set the modem to higher to a higher speed than shown, it will only result in the modem timing out and dropping carrier.
- Set the Databits to 8
- Set the Parity to None
- Set the Prefix to ATDT
- If your modem requires a specific initialization string, type it in the
Initialization String 1 text box. Use the modem string recommended for your modem or use the default.
- If your modem requires a specific initialization string, type it in the
Initialization String 2 text box. Use the modem string recommended for your modem or use the default.
- If you wish to disable call waiting, type *70 in the Call Waiting text box.
Note that all areas do not use *70 to disable call waiting so if *70 does not work for you, contact your local telephone company for the correct code. Note that call waiting will always turn back on after you disconnect from
DigiTex.net.
- Set the Mode to Dial
- Close the Window and save the information
When you connect you may or may not see the following errors:

 | error : [netw] invalid fcs

Don't worry, the errors do not relate to any incorrect settings.
When the "[ppp] enter ctrl-c or ctrl-break to end" message appears you are connected.
Once connected start any of the OS/2 Internet software and have fun.
