Getting Started with the Internet Setup Operating System: Newton OS Application: Modem slip

Internet Setup

1. Turn the power to the Newton on.
2. Tap Extras. to open the Extras Drawer.

   

3. Tap the folder tab, the diamond, at the top of the Extras Drawer
4. From the list tap Setup.
5. Tap Internet Setup.
6. From the Internet Setup slip, tap New.
7. Select DigiTex.net from the list.

1. In the Setup Name: text area, type DigiTex.net
2. For the Link Protocol: choose PPP
3. In the Phone Number: text area, type your local access number.
   Note: Type your local dial-up access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
4. In the Username: text area, type your username
5. Click the Set Password button, to bring up the password window.
6. In the Password: text area, type your DigiTex.net password
7. In the Confirm Password: text area, type your DigiTex.net password again for confirmation.
8. Tap the Continue button.

1. For the Newton's IP address: dynamic.
2. Leave the IP Address as 0.0.0.0
3. For the Gateway IP address:: dynamic.
4. Leave the IP Address as 0.0.0.0
5. In the Name Server IP Address: text box, type 68.93.224.10
6. In the Domain: text box, type digitex.net
7. Tap the Continue button.

Tap Done to view the login script.

Wait for:	Select In
Send:	Select
Send:	User Name
Send:	¶
Wait For:	Select ord:
send:	Password
Send:	¶

 

   8.    Set the Timeout to 60 seconds.
9.    Tap the X to close the window.
   10.  Tap the OK button to save changes.
