Open Transport PPP uses Apple Remote Access type CCL scripts instead of initialization
strings. CCL stands for Communication Command Language. Like a modem initialization string, the
CCL files provide modem configuration settings. These settings help your modem communicate with your
phone line so you can connect to the Internet. In some cases Apple Remote Access may not have
a CCL listed for your modem but you will need one to connect.
There is a Modem Script generator available from Apple that you can use to create your own modem
scripts, however modem manufacturers are creating new CCL scripts for use with Apple Remote Access
and you should be able to find the scripts on the manufacturers' support web sites.
You can download the Modem Script generator
from
Apple's web site under PPP Extras.
