Error: "an unknown TCP/IP error has
occurred" and "501 invalid domain name"

If you have a member who is running Windows 95 and receives either unknown
TCP/IP error has occurred or 501 invalid domain name when using mail, try these steps. This fix has been known to work with MS Internet
Mail and Pegasus, and may come in handy with Eudora as well.
Close the mail client.
Click the Start button.
Select Run
In the Open text box, type regedit
Click the OK button.
From the left column under My Computer, double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Double-click System
Double-click CurrentControlSet
Double-click Services
Double-click VxD
Double-click MSTCP
From the right column under Name, double-click HostName
