Getting Started with Pegasus 2.5

Download
- Connect to DigiTex.net.
- Open a web browser (Netscape Navigator, MSIE, etc.)
- Open your Web browser and go to: ftp://ftp.usm.maine.edu/pegasus
- Download Pegasus Mail for Windows 3.x Winpm - v2.5.
- When the download is complete, close the web browser (do not disconnect from the Internet.)
Install
- Using File Manager, go to the directory to which you downloaded the Pegasus Mail setup file.
- Double-click the downloaded file (winpm252.exe)

- At the WinZip Self-Extractor window, click Setup.
- Wait for the files to unzip.
- At the Pegasus Mail Setup window, click Continue installation.

- At the second Pegasus Mail Setup window, click No NetWare Support.

- At the Where would you like to put it window, click OK, accept this directory.

- At the Ready to install window, click Install Pegasus Mail.

- Wait while Pegasus installs.
- When you see the Setup completed window, click Exit.
Configure
- Double-click the Pegasus Mail icon.

- At the Setting up mailboxes window, click the first button (the icon with one computer and one person.)

- At the Setup information window, click OK.

- At the Using WINSOCK.DLL window, click Yes.

- In the POP3 host text box, type mail.digitex.net
- In the User name text box, type your DigiTex.net username
- In the Password text box, type your DigiTex.net password (be sure the case and spelling are correct.)
- In the SMTP host text box, type mail.digitex.net
- Click the OK button.
- Reconnect to DigiTex.net if you are not still connected.
- Pegasus is now configured to check and send mail.
- If you need assistance using Pegasus, double click the Getting Started icon in the Pegasus Mail program manager group.
