Error: "Server not responding"

bulletApplication: Netscape Mail

 
  1. Did you use Dial-Up Networking to dial into the network before opening Netscape?
  2. If not, double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
    bullet Double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon.
    bullet Double-click the DigiTex.net icon.
    bullet Click the Connect button.
    bullet Once connected to DigiTex.net, open Netscape.
    bullet Check mail with Netscape as before.
  3. If you did dial into DigiTex.net Link first, open Netscape Navigator.
  4. Click Options, on the menu bar.
  5. Click General Preferences.
  6. Change http://home.netscape.com/ to http://www.

  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Options on the menu bar.
  9. Click Mail and News Preferences.
  10. Click the Servers tab.
  11. The Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field should read, mail.
  12. The Incoming Mail (POP3) Server field should also read mail.
  13. If Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail Server fields are already set to mail., change them to digitex.net
  14. The POP3 User Name field, should contain your username
  15. The News (NNTP) Server field should read news.digitex.net

  16. Click the Identity tab.
  17. The Your Email field should contain your email address.
  18. The Your Reply-to Address field should contain your email address.

  19. Click OK.
  20. If this does not work, check the System Status page (via the DigiTex.net home page), for mail-related outages. If there are no known outages, contact DigiTex.net 24-hour Technical Support at 1-800-558-6230.
