Network Components Needed
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click the Control Panel icon.
- Double-click the Network icon.
- Under The following network components are installed:
make sure you have the following:
 | Client for Microsoft Networks,
 | Network Card Adapter, and
 | TCP/IP.

How to Add Client for Microsoft Networks
- Click the Add button.
- Select Client.
- Click the Add button.
- From the Manufacturers: list, select Microsoft.
- From the Network Clients: list, select Client for Microsoft Networks.
- Click the OK button.
How to Add a Network Adapter
- Click the Add button.
- Select Adapter.
- Click the Add button.
- From the Manufactures: list, choose the manufacturer of your Network card.
- From the Network Adapter: list, choose your Network card model.
- Click the OK button.
How to Add TCP/IP
- Click the Add button.
- Select Protocol.
- Click the Add button.
- From the Manufactures: list, choose Microsoft.
- From the Network Protocol: list, choose TCP/IP.
- Click the OK button.
How to Configure TCP/IP
- Choose the Configuration tab.
- Under The following network components are installed:, choose TCP/IP.
- Click the Properties button.
- Choose the IP Address tab.
- Select the Specify an IP address button.
- In the IP Address: text box, type 192.168.1.2
- In the Subnet Mask: text box, type 255.255.255.0
- Choose the DNS Configuration tab.
- Select Disable DNS.
- Choose the WINS Configuration tab.
- Select Disable WINS Resolution.
- Choose the Gateway tab.
- Clear the Installed Gateways text box.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Yes button.
