Configuring TCP/IP

1. From the Apple menu, choose Control Panels.
2. Double-click the TCP/IP control panel.
3. From the Connect via window, choose Ethernet.
   
4. From the Configure window, choose Manually.
   
5. In the IP Address text box, type 192.168.1.2
   
6. In the Subnet mask text box, type 255.255.255.0
   
7. Close the TCP/IP Control Panel.
   
8. Click the Save button.
   
9. From the Special menu, choose Restart.
   

Software Installation

1. Put the Netopia CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive.
   
2. Double-click the Netopia CD icon.
   
3. Double-click Netopia Internet Router.
   
4. Double-click Netopia Smart Start.
   
5. Type 192.168.1.1 for the IP Address.
   
6. Type 255.255.255.0 in the IP Mask field.
   
7. Type the Netopia serial number. The serial number is located on the bottom of the Farallon Netopia ISDN Router or on your Technical Support Access Card.
   
8. Click the Submit button. The Farallon Netopia ISDN Router will reboot itself and go through a 10-second countdown.
   
9. Once the countdown has finished, click the Web Browser button.
   

    

Netopia Configuration

1. Click the Easy Setup button.
   
2. Check the Network Address Translation box.
   
3. Check the IP Address Serving box.
   
4. Click the OK button.
   
5. Click the right arrow.
   
6. Select the Switch Type for your ISDN line.
   
7. Enter your SPID 1 and SPID 2 information.
   
8. Enter your directory numbers.
   
9. Click OK.
   
10. Click the right arrow.
    
11. In the Connection Profile Name text box, replace Easy Setup Profile with DigiTex.net.
    
12. In the Number to Dial text box, enter your DigiTex.net ISDN access number.
    
13. In the Remote IP Address text box, type 127.0.0.2
    
14. In the Remote IP Subnet text box, type 255.0.0.0
    
15. Set PPP Authentication (Security) to PAP.
    
16. Click the OK button.
    
17. Click the right arrow.
    
18. In the Send User Name text box, type your DigiTex.net username. For example: username
    
19. In the Send Password text box, type your DigiTex.net password.
    
20. Leave Receive User Name and Receive Password blank.
    
21. Click the OK button.
    
22. Click the right arrow.
    
23. In the Default Gateway IP Address text box, type 127.0.0.2
    
24. In the Domain Name Server IP Address text box, type 68.93.224.10
    
25. Click the OK button.
    
26. Click the right arrow.
    
27. In the Number of Client IP Addresses text box, type 253
    
28. In the 1st Client Address text box, type 192.168.1.2
    
29. Click the OK button.
    
30. Click the right arrow.
    
31. Enter a Write Access Name and Write Access Password to password protect your Farallon Netopia ISDN Router. In order to make future configuration changes, you will need use the name and password you entered here, so it is important that you remember them.
    
32. Click the yellow lighting bolt button.
    
33. Click the Restart link.
    
34. Wait 10 seconds, then click the Here link.
    
35. Close the web browser.
    

Reconfiguring TCP/IP

1. From the Apple choose Control Panels.
2. Double-click the TCP/IP Control Panel.
   
3. Select TCP/IP.
   
4. From the Configure window, choose Using DHCP Server.
   
5. Close the TCP/IP Control Panel.
   
6. Click Save.
