Cisco 700 Series Routers

Note: Due to current state of ISDN technology, various telephone company switch types,
routers, and the staggered nature in which individual channel calls are placed,
DigiTex.net cannot
guarantee consistent dual channel connectivity at all times.

Setup a Serial Connection through a Com Port using Hyperterminal
- Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories and choose Hyperterminal.
- Double-click Hypertrm.exe
- In the Name text box, type Cisco.
- Click the OK button.

- Select the com port that is connected from the Connect using list.
For example: Direct to Com 2
- Click the OK button.

- Set the Bits per second to 9600.
- Set the Data bits to 8.
- Set the Parity to None.
- Set the Stop bits to 1.
- Set the Flow control to None.
- Click the OK button.

- When the main screen appears hold down the Ctrl and L keys for a brief moment then let go.
You should see a blank screen with a cursor flashing. To make sure that it is communicating with the router, press the Enter key on your keyboard a couple times, you should see the message Error on Input string.
