If you are using an external modem, make sure that your modem is turned on and that your computer is connected to the line input jack on your modem. |
- Double-click the My Computer icon.
- Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Click the DigiTex.net icon.
- From the menu bar, click File and choose Properties.

- Click the Configure button.
- Click the Connection tab.
- On the lower-right, click the Advanced button.
- If you have it, consult your modem document for an initialization string suitable for PPP or TCP/IP connections.
- In the Extra settings field, type z, followed by the initialization string. If you do not have your modem's users manual, try ATZ, AT&F1 or AT&F.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.
- If your dialer now connects to the internet, you are now able to use your internet applications (Netscape Navigator, Eudora, AOL, etc.)
- If this does not work, check the modem using HyperTerminal with the directions below.
- Click the Start button.
- Go up to Programs.
- Go up to Accessories.
- Click Hyperterminal.
- Click HyperTerminal.
- In the Name text box, type DigiTex.net.
- Click the OK button.
- In the Phone number text box, type 123456789.
- In the Area code text box, type 123.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the Dial button.
- If your modem does not dial, then your modem is not working properly. In this case, you should contact the manufacturer or the vendor who sold the modem to you. If it does dial, there is probably a configuration problem with Dial-Up Networking and you should call
DigiTex.net's Technical Support.
