Error: "Dial-Up Networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocols..."

One or more of the Network Components my have become corrupt. Delete and reinstall the connection.
 
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
  3. Delete the connection in question.
  4. Double-click the Make New Connection icon.
  5. Under Type a name for the computer you are dialing, type DigiTex.net
  6. Click the Configure button.

  7. Select the appropriate port speed for your modem. For 14.4 modems use 19200, for 28.8 modems use 38400 and for 56k use 57600.
  8. Make sure that Only connect at this speed is not checked.
  9. Click the OK button.

  10. Click the Next button.

  11. In the Area code and Telephone number text boxes, type your local DigiTex.net access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  12. Click the Next button.

  13. Click the Finish button.

  14. Click the DigiTex.net icon.
  15. From the File menu bar, choose Properties.

  16. Click the Server Type button.

  17. Uncheck Log on to network.
  18. Check Enable software compression.
  19. Uncheck Require encrypted password.
  20. Uncheck NetBEUI.
  21. Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible.
  22. Check TCP/IP.
  23. Click the OK button.

  24. Click the OK button.
