Error: "The com port is either being used by another application or is not supported" Operating System: Windows 3.x Application: Internet Access Application Version: N/A

1. Find the I/O and IRQ addresses for the port on which the modem is installed.
2. Open the Main program group.

   

3. Double-click the Control Panel icon.

   

4. Double-click the Ports icon.
   

   

5. Select the port on which the modem is installed.
6. Click the Settings button.
   

   

7. Click the Advanced button.
   

   

8. Click the top down arrow and set the Base I/O Port Address.
9. Click the bottom down arrow and set the Interrupt Request Line (IRQ).
10. Click the OK button.
    

    

11. Click the Restart Now button.
    

    

12. Wait for Windows to restart.
