Open the Internet Access program group.
Double-click the Internet Dialer icon (the blue phone).
Click the Options file menu.
Click Preferences.
Put a check mark in box labeled Administrative Mode (the first box).
Make sure there is an X in every box except the last.
Click OK to close the Preferences dialogue box.
Click the Options file menu.
Click Modem Port Setup.
Make sure the Port selected is the com port where your modem is installed.
Make sure the Baud Rate is set to 19200 for a 14400 modem or 38400 for a 28800 modem.
Make sure Modem is set to the closest match to your modem.
Click OK to close the Modem Port Setup dialogue box.
Click the Options file menu.
Click Session Setup.
Verify that the phone number shown is your correct DigiTex.net access number.
Click Handshake Login. (If Handshake Login does not appear, you are using the PAP login procedure and should refer to the document "How to configure
Internet Access for PAP".
Make sure your username is correct and is entered in lower case.)
Make sure you have your username (without any spaces.)
Make sure that there is not a check mark in the box "Prompt for User Name".
Make sure that the password was entered in lower case. (Your password will be shown as ******** for security purposes, but you can check by retyping it.)
Make sure that there is not a check mark in the box Prompt for Password.
Click OK to close the Handshake Login dialogue box.
Click OK to close the Session Setup dialogue box.
Click the Options file menu.
Click Site Setup. (Site Setup is only available if Administrative Mode is selected under "Preferences".)
Make sure PPP is selected.
Click Handshake.
Make sure Auto handshake is selected.
Make sure CR on Connect is set to CR and that Delay is set to 0 (zero).
Look for Handshake Event. It should say 1 of 2.
If you have more than 2 Handshake Events ( such as 1 of 4 ) the extras must be removed.
Move the scroll bar on the right, down to these other events ( such as 4 of 4 ).
Click the Remove button to remove these events until only Handshake Event 2 of 2 is showing.
Move the scroll bar on the right, up to Handshake Event 1 of 2. (Do not click Remove to navigate.)
Handshake Event 1 of 2 should have Recv: set to ogin.
Kind should be set to USERNAME.
Wait time should be 60 seconds.
The Append CR on Send box should have a check in it.
Move the horizontal scroll bar on the right, down to Handshake Event 2 of 2. Do not click Remove to do so.
Handshake Event 2 of 2 should have Recv: set to ssword.
Kind should be set to PASSWORD.
Wait time should be 60 seconds.
The Append CR on Send box should have a check in it.
Click OK to close the Handshake dialogue box.
Click IP Addresses.
IP should be set to 0.0.0.0
Gateway should be 0.0.0.0
Next to Gateway, Secondary: should be blank.
Sub-netmask should be 255.255.255.0
DNS should be 0.0.0.0
Set Secondary should be 0.0.0.0
Domain should be DigiTex.net
Click OK to close the IP Addresses dialogue box.
Click OK to close the Site Setup dialogue box.
Click the Options file menu.
Click Preferences.
Take the check mark out of the box Administrative Mode (first box).
Make sure that there is a check mark in every box except the last box and the first box.
Click OK to close the Preferences dialogue box.
Shut down Windows.
Restart your computer.
Open the Internet Access program group.
Double click the Internet icon (the blue phone).
Click the Connect menu.
Your username will be at the bottom of this menu.
Click your username. Your modem will now connect to the DigiTex.net.
