Setup a Terminal Window

 
bulletOperating System: MacOS 8.0 and above
bulletApplication: OT/PPP
bulletApplication Version: 1.0.1 and above

 
  1. From the menu bar click the Apple icon and choose Control Panels.
  2. Double-click the PPP Control Panel.

  3. From the menu bar click PPP and choose Modem.

  4. From the Modem: pull down list, select Null Modem 115200.

  5. Close the Modem window.

  6. Click the Save button.

  7. From the PPP window, in the Name text box, type username
  8. In the Password text box, type your password
  9. In the Number text box, type 9
  10. Click the Options button.

  11. Select the Protocol tab.
  12. Check the Allow error correction and compression in modem check box.
  13. Check the Use TCP header compression check box.
  14. Check the Connect to command-line-host check box.
  15. Select Use Terminal window.
  16. Click the OK button.

  17. Click the Connect button.

  18. From the Terminal Window, click the Settings button.
  19. Check the Close Terminal when PPP is started check box.
  20. Check the Prompt to save Connect Script on close check box.
  21. Click the OK button.
  22. At the prompt type the desired initialization string. For example: ATZ
  23. Press the Enter key, and wait for the OK.

  24. After the OK prompt, type ATDT press the space bar once, then your local access number.
  25. Click the Connect button.
  26. At the Login prompt, type your dial-up username. For example: username
  27. At the password prompt, type your dial-up password.
  28. When connected, you will read...
    bulletEntering PPP mode.
    bulletIP Address is ###.###.###.###
    bulletMTU is 1500
  29. Click the Coninue button.
  30. Click the Desktop button.
  31. In the Save connection script as: text box, type My modem script
  32. Click the Save button. You are now connected.
  33. From the PPP window, Options button.
  34. Select the Protocol tab.
  35. Select Use Connect Script.
  36. Click the Import Script button.
  37. Click the Desktop button.
  38. Find the script labled My modem script
  39. Click the Open button.
  40. Click the OK button.
  41. Now you can click the Connect button to connect.
