- From the menu bar click the Apple icon and choose Control Panels.
- Double-click the PPP Control Panel.

- From the menu bar click PPP and choose Modem.

- From the Modem: pull down list, select Null Modem 115200.

- Close the Modem window.

- Click the Save button.

- From the PPP window, in the Name text box, type
username
- In the Password text box, type your
password
- In the Number text box, type 9
- Click the Options button.

- Select the Protocol tab.
- Check the Allow error correction and compression in modem check box.
- Check the Use TCP header compression check box.
- Check the Connect to command-line-host check box.
- Select Use Terminal window.
- Click the OK button.

- Click the Connect button.

- From the Terminal Window, click the Settings button.
- Check the Close Terminal when PPP is started check box.
- Check the Prompt to save Connect Script on close check box.
- Click the OK button.
- At the prompt type the desired initialization string. For example: ATZ
- Press the Enter key, and wait for the OK.

- After the OK prompt, type ATDT press the space bar once, then your local access number.
- Click the Connect button.
- At the Login prompt, type your dial-up username. For example:

- At the password prompt, type your dial-up password.
- When connected, you will read...

- Click the Coninue button.
- Click the Desktop button.
- In the Save connection script as: text box, type My modem script
- Click the Save button. You are now connected.
- From the PPP window, Options button.
- Select the Protocol tab.
- Select Use Connect Script.
- Click the Import Script button.
- Click the Desktop button.
- Find the script labled My modem script
- Click the Open button.
- Click the OK button.
- Now you can click the Connect button to connect.
