Getting Started: Install and Configure Communicator

Install
- Exit any applications that are still running.
- Double-click the Communicator install file.
- Click the Yes button to begin installation.

- Click the OK button at the Welcome dialog box.

- Take a moment to read the Software License Agreement. Click the Yes button if you agree to its terms.
- If necessary, change the Destination Directory. Click the Next button to continue.

- If you get a message that says The directory...does not exist. Do you want to create it?, click the Yes button.

- Click the Next button.
- Click the Install button to confirm the Current Settings.

- Click the No button to decline the README file.
- Click the OK button to confirm the Information dialog box.
- Click the OK button to restart Windows 95.

Configure
- Click the Start button.
- From the Start menu, point to Netscape Communicator and choose Netscape Navigator.

- Click the OK button to start the SetupWizard.

- Each user of a Communicator on a particular machine has a group of settings called a Profile. Click the Next button to start creating your user profile.

- In the Full Name text box, type your name.
- In the Email Address text box, type your DigiTex.net username, followed by
@digitex.net. For example: username@digitex.net

- Click the Next button to continue.
- Click the next button to confirm the spelling of your username.

- In the Outgoing mail [SMTP] server text box, type mail.digitex.net
- Click the Next button.

- In the Incoming Mail Server text box, type mail.digitex.net
- Click the Next button.

- In the News (NNTP) server text box, type news.connect.net

- Click the Finish button.

- Click the Start Communicator button to confirm the selected profile.

- From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.

- In the Location text box, type http://www.digitex.net

- Under Category, double-click Composer.
- Select Publishing.

- Under Enter a FTP or HTTP site address to Publish to:, type ftp://ftp-www.digitex.net/web
- Under If publishing to a FTP site, enter the HTTP address to browse to:, type
http://home.digitex.net/ followed by your username. For example:
http://home.digitex.net/username
- Click the OK button.
