Download

1. Connect to DigiTex.net.
2. Open Fetch.

   

3. In the Host text box, type ftp.netscape.com
4. In the Directory text box, type /pub/communicator/4.05/shipping/english/mac/
5. Click the OK button.

   

6. Double-click either 68k (68080) or PPC (PowerPC) depending on what kind of processor your Macintosh uses.

   

7. Double-click complete_install.

   

8. Double-click Com4.05_PPC.bin or Com4.05_68k.bin.
9. Save the file to the desktop.
10. When the file has finished downloading, close Fetch.
11. Double-click the Com4.05_PPC icon.
12. Click the Continue button to run Stuffit.
13. Click the Save button.

    

14. Click the Quit button to exit Stuffit.
15. Disconnect from DigiTex.net.

Install

1. Make sure that no programs are running before you being installing Netscape Communicator.
2. Double-click the Communicator 4.05 PPC f (or 68k) icon.

   

3. Double-click the Netscape Installer icon. You may need to use the scroll bars to find it.

   

4. Double-click the Netscape Installer icon.

   

5. Click the Continue button.
6. Take a moment to read the License Agreement. If you agree with its terms, click the Accept button to continue.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Click the Install button to choose the Easy Install option.

   

9. Click the Continue button to confirm that no other programs are running.
10. When all of the Netscape Communicator files have been installed, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click the Restart button.

Configure

1. Double-click the Hard Drive icon.
2. Double-click the Netscape Communicator^TM Folder icon.
3. Double-click the Netscape Communicator^TM icon.

   

4. Click the Next button to start creating a user profile.
5. In the Your Name text box, type your name.
6. In the Email Address text box, type your DigiTex.net username, immediately followed by @digitex.net. For example: username@digitex.net

   

7. Click the Next button to confirm your name as the title for your standard Netscape Communicator profile.
8. Click the Next button to confirm the default location for your preferences, bookmarks, etc.
9. Click the Done button to confirm the first phase of configuring Communicator.
10. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.

    

11. Under category, make sure that Navigator is selected.

    

12. In the Home page location text box, type http://startup.digitex.net

    

13. Click the triangle to the left of Mail & Groups to reveal more options.

    

14. Under Mail & Groups, select Mail Server.
15. In the Mail server user name text box, type your DigiTex.net username, without a prefix.
16. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server text box, type mail.digitex.net
17. In the Incoming mail server text box, type mail.digitex.net

    

18. Click the More Options button.

    

19. Check the Remember my mail password check box.
20. Click the OK button.
21. Under Mail & Groups, select Groups Server.

    

22. In the Discussion groups (news) server text box, type news.digitex.net

    

23. Click the OK button.
