FTP Download
- Open My Computer.
- Open Dial-Up Networking.
- Double-click the DigiTex.net icon.
- In the Username field type your username, without any spaces.
- Enter your password.
- Click the Connect button.
- Wait for Dial-Up Networking to connect.
- Click the Start button.
- Click Run.
- In the Open field, type ftp ftp.microsoft.com.
- At the User prompt, click OK.
- Type ftp and press Enter.
- For the password, type your email address, then press enter.
- Type cd /softlib/mslfiles, then press Enter.
- Type hash
- Press Enter.
- Type bin
- Press Enter.
- Type get msie302.exe and press Enter.
- Type bye and press Enter.
- Close the Dial-Up Networking window.
- In the Connected to... window, click Disconnect.
- Close the My Computer window.
Install
- On the desktop, look for msie302.exe and double-click it.
- When you see This will install Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0. Do you wish to continue?, Click OK.
- Wait for the files to extract.
- Click I Agree when you see Internet Explorer License Agreement.
- When you see Internet Explorer Installation, Click OK. Setup will begin Copying Files.
- When you're prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
- Wait for the computer to reboot.
- Double-click the icon labeled The Internet.
Configure
- When you see the Internet Connect Wizard. click Next.
- Click Current.
- Click Next.
- Click Always perform this check when starting Internet Explorer to uncheck it.
- Click Yes if you intend Explorer to be your primary Web browser, rather than Netscape Navigator.
- Click Next.
- Click Manual.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Verify User name and Password
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- In the DNS Server field, type 206.160.192.10.
- In the Alternate DNS Server field, type 206.160.192.12.
- Click Next again.
- Click the box next to Use Internet Mail to put a check in it.
- In the Your Email address field, type your email address.
- In the Internet mail server field, type mail.digitex.net.
- Click Next.
- Click New.
- Click OK.
- Under Profile, click the down arrow and click Internet Mail Settings.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click Connect.
- On the menu bar, click View.
- Click Options.
- Click the Navigation tab.
- Delete the contents of the Address field.
- In the Address field, type www.digitex.net.
- Click OK.
- Microsoft Internet Mail and News, continue click Next.
- Click the Go to Download Area Now button.
- In the field under IE Additional Components, click the down arrow.
- Click Internet Mail and News for Windows 95 & NT 4.0.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- Click any of the blue links for mailnews.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
- Minimize each open window.
- Double-click the icon labeled mailnews.
- Click Yes to accept the license agreement. Setup will being Extracting files.
- Internet Mail and News Installation.
- In the Name field, enter your full name.
- Confirm Name and Organization.
- Click Next.
- Specify Internet Mail, Internet News or both.
- Click Next.
- Confirm location to install.
- Click Next again.
- Click Finish.
- Copying Files.
- Internet Mail and News has been installed successfully.
- Click OK.
- When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
- Wait for the Windows 95 to restart Click on the Start button.
- Go up to Programs.
- Click Internet Mail.
- Internet Mail .
- Click Next.
- In the Name field, enter your full name.
- In the Email Address field, enter your email address.
- Click Next.
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3) Server field, type mail.digitex.net.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field, type mail.digitex.net.
- Click Next.
- In the Email Account, type your username.
- In the Password field, type your DigiTex.net login password.
- Click Next Click I use a modem to access my email.
- Under Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection, click the down arrow.
- Click DigiTex.net.
- Click Next.
- Congratulations, you are now ready to start sending and receiving email on the Internet.
- Click Finish.
